Communication Skills for Millennials and GenZ
The answer, of course, is YES. However, our two youngest generations desperately need the assistance of older generations even though the elders may push back initially. A growing number of older generations feel our Digital Pioneers (Millennials) and our Digital Natives (GenZ) are a lost cause. I hear many of you who live up the generational hill at GenX, Baby Boomer and above have given up.
Since I live part way up the generational hill at GenX I am uniquely poised to communicate both up and down a generation or two. I have worked hard over the years to gain the trust of my generation and many older generations by being patient, listening, and being humble when someone who is far wiser than I will ever be is willing to teach me something new. I have also worked hard for several years gaining the trust of the youngest generations by sharing my learned wisdom in a very non-threatening manner, helping to implement their new and exciting thoughts and ideas as well as recognizing our youngest generations have so much to add to help shape our new workforce model as referenced by Inc.com
I certainly do not claim to be a generational expert. However, I am considered a communication and presentation skills expert. My curiosity with generational communication was born as a result of my Millennial and GenZ daughters experiencing communication frustrations.
There are experts such as Jason Dorsey who share amazing generational information we can all learn from.
After witnessing the communication frustration of my own offspring, I decided to design a training program to help bridge the communication gap. After much research, I am proud to announce “Communication Basics for Millennials and GenZ” has officially been launched into the academic market!
